Coca-Cola Europacific Partners manages a large and complex distribution network. In Australia, its operation includes more than 700 trucks, around 1.8 million deliveries each year and eight manufacturing and distribution centres.
That scale makes dock coordination a daily operational priority. CCEP used Mobiledock to create a more controlled way to schedule, monitor and communicate vehicle movements across its sites.
The challenge of high dock demand
Before the change, booking information was spread across spreadsheets and shared documents. Teams had limited visibility of booking durations, which contributed to congestion, queues and difficult conversations with carriers. Different departments also lacked one shared view of what had been planned and what was actually happening on site.
CCEP needed to manage inbound raw materials, outbound customer deliveries and movements between its own sites while giving operations teams better information for resolving scheduling conflicts.
Connecting bookings, approvals and dock activity
Mobiledock provided a hosted appointment scheduling platform that could be configured for CCEP’s different sites and operating requirements. The system supports the process from the initial request for a delivery slot through to completion.
Bulk and interstate bookings can be uploaded directly into the platform. CCEP also uses a combination of automated and manual approvals, including rules for staggered start times and reloads, so that each site can manage demand in a way that suits its operation.
Better visibility for teams and carriers
Live views of current dock activity, upcoming schedules and required loads help CCEP allocate people and resources more effectively. Reporting gives the team a clearer way to investigate delays, improve carrier relationships and assess further operational improvements.
Mobiledock also provides a shared record of movements, including arrival, dock activity and departure. This gives departments and carriers a common reference point and helps the business prioritise time-sensitive loads before they create further disruption.
For a high-volume network, that visibility supports better communication, less congestion and more deliberate use of dock capacity.
